Coronation Street star lands villain role in panto

Coronation Street star Vicky Entwhistle is to play the Bad Fairy in panto this year.

Renowned as loudmouth factory worker, Janice Battersby, the much-loved soap actress is looking forward to taking on the role in Sleeping Beauty at Mansfield Palace Theatre.

She said: “I love pantomimes and seem to have a track record for playing villains! It’s about the kids at the end of the day, I love to hear them booing or hissing because getting a reaction is what it’s all about.”

Sleeping Beauty runs at the Palace Theatre from November 29 until January 5. Tickets are priced at £12.50, £11.50 for concessions and £44 for a family of four up until August 30. After this date tickets will revert to the normal prices of £13.50, £12.50 for concessions and £48 for a family of four. All of the above ticket prices are subject to a 2.5 per cent booking fee.
