talented duo to play in duffield

The Music at Duffield season continues later this month with the first concert of 2015 taking place on Saturday, January 24.

The concert will be a Bemrose Bursary Recital, featuring performances by James Hendry (piano) and Amy Yule (flute).

The venue is the Main Hall at The Ecclesbourne School in Duffield. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

The programme features JS Bach’s Flute Sonata in B minor, Brahms’s Klavierstücke op.118 Nos. 1-3, Poulenc’s Flute Sonata plus other works by composers such as Gaubert, Schubert, Rachmaninov and Saint~Saëns.

James Hendry is currently in his fourth year at the Royal Northern College of Music studying the piano.

Before joining the RNCM he was a founding member of Yorkshire Young Musicians, a programme offering expert training to advanced young musicians, which is in partnership with Opera North and Leeds College of Music.

James has performed in many prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall.

Amy Yule is in her second year at the RNCM. As a soloist, Amy has won several awards including the Norman Trotman Competition, the RNCM Ken Griffin Flute Prize and sponsorship from the EMI Music Sound Foundation and the Craxton Memorial Trust. James and Amy appear by kind permission of the Royal Northern College of Music.
