The Special Consensus Bluegrass Band to play in Buxton on select tour of Britain

Country music fans are in for a Friday night treat this month when The Special Consensus Bluegrass Band plays the Pavilion Art Centre in Buxton, as part of a select tour of the UK.

Grammy nominated, The Special Consensus are all super talented musicians, having learned their craft as children and soaking up Bluegrass (a subgenre of country music with mixed roots in Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English traditional music) from their forefathers.

Since forming in the Chicago area in 1975 The Special Consensus Bluegrass band have released 17 studio recordings including their latest album Country Boy, a tribute to country legend John Denver.

Their set in Buxton will contain an original catalogue of songs, covering a broad spectrum of traditional bluegrass standards, original compositions and music from other genres played in the bluegrass style, together with a number of John Denver hits.

The group’s five-date tour of Britain precedes a number of concerts in Ireland where their energy and enthusiasm for bluegrass, strikes a chord with country music lovers.
