Remi Harris and the Gypsy Jazz Project head for Derbyshire

Chapel Arts are now up and running and have already staged three well attended concerts this year.

Now the organisation is bringing one of the UK’s top young jazz guitarists and his backing musicians to town.

Remi Harris and the Gypsy Jazz Project will play at the Town Hall in Chapel en le Frith on Saturday, October 3.

Remi’s unique style blends elements from gypsy jazz, blues, rock, hip hop and world music.

He has toured extensively round the world as well asperforming at Buckingham Palace, live on BBC Radio 2 and on BBC Radio 3.

In 2014 Remi was awarded runner up in the British Jazz Awards in both the Rising Star and Guitar Category.

After Remi appeared live on Radio 2 in May, the presenter and musician,Jamie Cullum commented: “incredible guitarist... I’m absolutely blown away by his talent...amazing.”

This concert has been arranged with the support ofLive & Local, a not-­for-profit arts organisation working in Derbyshire, which brings professional live performances to village halls and other small venues.

Doors will open at Chapel Town Hall at 7.30pm for the concert which will start at 8pm. A bar service will be open from 7.30pm to 8pm and again during the interval.
