The Pirates are coming

Peak Youth are poised to launch their next production, the junior version of Pirates of Penzance.

Based on the Broadway Production the musical follows the storyline of the well known Gilbert and Sullivan work and has some interesting musical “extras “.

Peak Youth number almost 50 members, ranging from 8 years up to 17 and are rising to the challenge of presenting a new show only 10 weeks after their highly successful Wizard of Oz.

Leading the challenge is Darcy Thorpe,playing the part of Mabel who sings the well known “Poor wandering one “and 11-year-old Lewis McPhilbin taking on the role of Major General Stanley and the famous patter song “I am the very model of a model a Major General”. Kate and Edith, the eldest of the Major General’s 20 daughters, are are played by Jess Hall and Aimee Sherlock and complement the choral singing.

The Pirate King is Isaac Marsh, with his right hand man Samuel being played by Christian Pass.

Sam Thorpe takes on the role of the unfortunate Frederick with Meliissa Shaw playing the pivotal role of Ruth, the “maid of all works”.

With a band of colourful Pirates and a line-up of not so brave police, led by Georgia Ewington, there is something for everyone in this colourful musical.
