MMT head for merry old land of Oz

As she dons her ruby slippers in Munchkinland, follow her down the Yellow Brick Road, meeting friends Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion en route to the Emerald City.

The journey is not without danger, of course, as the Wicked Witch of the West makes the going difficult. Will she be overcome?

Will Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion find their brain, heart and courage with the help of the Wizard? Will Dorothy find her way home?

In the director’s chair this time is James Strath who is also playing Tin Man, with Delph Richards and Sara Townsend making the up the rest of the creative team as musical director and choreographer respectively. Sara is also taking the part of Glinda, the Witch of the North.

In the central role of Dorothy MMT is pleased to introduce Amelia Village, who has previously performed with Bakewell Musical Theatre. Another new cast member is Poppy, the miniature Schnauzer, who is featuring as Toto. Society regular Jo Petch is Scarecrow and Mike Parkinson-Brown is making his MMT debut as Lion.

Last but not least are the children from Clifton C of E Primary as Munchkin kiddies.

This fabulous show features such well-known songs as Ding Dong the Witch is Dead, If I Only Had a Brain, Merry Old Land of Oz and of course the iconic Over the Rainbow.
