Lantern workshops prepare for Bolsover’s Christmas Festival

Preparations for the 21st Bolsover Christmas Festival and Lantern Parade have begun, in what is set to be the biggest and brightest in the event’s history.

Paraders of all ages have begun building lanterns in a range of shapes and sizes to light up Bolsover in a spectacular after-dark parade on November 29.

Lantern making workshops will continue on Saturday and Sunday, November 22 and 23, from 10am to 4pm in the Assembly Rooms and are open to all.

Craft and gift stalls, festive music and family entertainment and a licensed food and drink area for the new ‘beer and brass’ theme introduced for 2014 are among the festival’s highlights.

Bolsover Rotarians are shining up Santa’s sleigh and have created a letter to Santa, which can be downloaded from www.discoverbolsover.co.uk/meet-santa. Children can bring these letters to the festival where there will be a special post box to collect the letters for Father Christmas.
