Get your Band of the Year entries in

All you need to do is send us a band photo and a demo CD of three tracks, at least one of which must be an original.

A panel of experts will listen to the entries and select the top 12 to fight it out on stage at Real Time Live, Chesterfield, in November.

The last band to lift the coveted cup are current holders Educatables

And the band’s Ricky Barson said that, having followed the contest since he was a youngster, to actully win the DT Band of the Year contest was an amazing experience.

He said: “We’ve always been along to watch Band of the Year, right from when we started at 12 years old...so that was about 12 years ago!

“I remember it being more “hard-rock” based which was great but it’s nice to see that as time has gone on that a more eclectic mix of genres have been getting through.

“And to lift the trophy ourselves was the best feeling ever!”

So if you want to be the next band to have you name on the Band of the Year trophy and take you place in Derbyshire musical history, get your entries in!
