Get ready for the ‘Little Royal’

Visitors will be flocking to the Bakewell Show today and tomorrow (Wednesday and Thursday).

Champion animals, mammoth vegetables, vintage vehicles, a farmers’ market and the beach experience are among attractions at the show, affectionately known as the ‘Little Royal’.

The dogs section at Bakewell Show has regained its Premier Status with the Kennel Club which means that all Best of Breed winners automatically qualify for Crufts.

The section will again feature the ‘Talking Dogs’ workshops run by Kennel Club assessor Christina Chapman. The meet-and-greet sessions are designed to introduce people who are new to breeding and showing to the rules and etiquette of the dog world.

Internationally renowned freelance floral designer Jonathan Moseley will present a series of demonstrations and encourage visitors to get ‘hands on’ with flower arranging. He can be found in the horticultural marquee.

Bakewell Show will welcome back Britain’s premier medieval jousting team The Knights of the Damned. The team will perform a display of Columbia pictures’ hit film A Knight’s Tale. It’s something of a homecoming for the man behind the Knights, Justin Pearson, who used to take part in the mounted games at Bakewell Show.
