Festival turns back the clock

The town held its annual 1940s festival at the weekend – providing two days of entertainment and nostalgia.

Spectators enjoyed vintage vehicles, bands and wartime re-enactments complete with ration books and tin hats.

As if that wasn’t enough, there was dancing in the ballroom at the Winding Wheel and a vintage fair.

The event, which was organised by Chesterfield Borough Council, was hailed a great success and enjoyed by scores of people.
