Downpage Liberation set to play Derby gig

Indie rockers The Downpage Liberation are set to take to the stage for their latest Derby gig this weekend.

The Downpage will perform at Ryan’s Bar on Friday, November 7 with support from Derby bands Lucille and Testcard Theory.

The band have recently impressed audiences at iconic venue The Victoria Inn and The George and Dragon, in Belper.

And now they are turning their attention to one of Derby’s best-loved stages, which has, in the past, uncovered talent including troubadour James Morrison.

Lucille will perform first at around 8pm, when they will entertain the crowd with their acoustic musings.

Testcard Theory are next on the bill and will rock out with their usual brand of garage indie.

Then The Downpage, who hail from Uttoxeter, will headline - again showcasing material from their new EP, The Nth Degree.

Downpage Drummer Dan Gerrey said: “Ryan’s Bar is one of those venues that has become part of the musical fabric of its city.

“Its legendary open mic night is still going strong after a history of hosting top acts.

“We’ve played there a few times and it’s always a good craic.

“We’ll be selling hard copies of The Nth Degree, which we’re really excited to now have officially released.”

The Nth Degree is expected be available at all major online music stores, including Amazon and iTunes, in the coming days.
