Doctor and the Medics to play in Dronfield

Eighties hit-makers Doctor and the Medics have an intimate gig in Derbyshire.

The group, who scored a monster hit wwith Spirit in the Sky in 1986, visit JD’s Music Lounge in Dronfield tonight (Thursday, August 27).

Their reworking of Norman Greenbaum’s Spirit in the Sky propelled the band to number one in 1986, hitting the top spot in 23 countries and notching up record sales of 24 million worldwide.

Often promoted as one- hit wonders, the band claim to be the only one-hit wonder to have had two hits as their next single Burn got to number 21!!
