The five-day festival is underway at Tupton Hall School, near Clay Cross, where more than 250 youngsters are competing for awards.

“Currently a small and very friendly festival and a little shy on entries in some areas this year, I am sure it will grow and be a most sought after competition.”

Students from Susan’s Danstudio, Eckington, are also participating in the festival, which is running until Friday, February 21. Principal Susan Carey said: “The festival has been very well organised throughout from the central souind system to the cafeteria facilities. Geoff Cox and his team should be congratulated for all their organisational skills in putting this superb festival together. A most enjoyable festival and we look forward to 2015.”
