This weekend sees the launch of Cinderella, the world’s favourite panto, at the Pomegranate Theatre.

Camilla Dallerup, who won the glitter ball in Strictly Come Dancing in 2008, will be cha-cha-charming families as Fairy Godmother. She said: “I’m really excited. There is very glamorous dancing and sparkle in this production.”

Put-downs and withering looks aplenty will be in the capable hands of the Ugly Sisters, played by Oliver Gray and Dean Horner.

The colourful twosome have been out and about round town, meeting the public at Casa Hotel, Chesterfield Bowl, Marks and Spencer, Whittington Primary School and visiting the panto sponsors Stagecoach Chesterfield.

The Ugly Sisters had a great time at Chesterfield Library where they presented children’s storytime, reading Cinderella and helping the kids decorate some big pants.

Katy Coysh, a member of staff at the library, said: “The children loved it and after their storytime they got busy colouring the bloomers which we shall be putting up very soon!”
