Busy season is in store at Duffield

The 2015-2016 Music At Duffield season is fast approaching, with six performances lined up over the coming months.

All performances take place in the main hall at The Ecclesbourne School, Duffield, starting at 7.30pm.

The season will begin on Saturday, October 17, with an appearance by the Innovation Chamber Ensemble.

This string sextet was formed in 2002 by members of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and has since performed at festivals and venues across the UK.

ICE have also made a number of recordings.

Their programme will consist of Richard Strauss’s Sextet from Capriccio, Mozart’s Grande Sestetto Concertante and Dvorak’s Sextet In A.

The second concert of the season is on December 5 when Music At Duffield will welcome the Piatti String Quartet.

Among the foremost young UK string quartets, Piatti have a host of recordings and critically-acclaimed performances to their name.

They will play Ravel’s Quartet In F, Schubert’s Quartettsatz in C Minor and Quartet in A Minor by Johannes Brahms.

The latest Bemrose Bursary Recital is to be given by pianist Sid Ramchander on January 30.

Sid is to play works by Schubert, Chopin, Scriabin and Brahms.

Later in the season, you can see The Thorne Trio (February 20), guitarist Martin Bickerton (March 19) and Kosmos (April 23).
