Bands galore at Belper Goes Green

Transition Belper has organised the Belper Goes Green ECO Festival at Belper Rugby Club on Saturday and Sunday (May 30-31), featuring a fine line-up of local talent.

There will be live acoustic entertainment on two stages - the main stage and the open mic stage with some dance in front of the main stage.

Saturday’s main stage line-up features Experimental Sonic Machine, Chris and Dave (blues grooves from Duffield), Folk Frienzy Dance Group, Songsmiths (Neil and Julie Smith), Blackfish and also Fleet Arts’ Turn it Up youngsters.

Saturday evening’s Second Stage features beer, burgers and ballads, with music from Joel Davis and then Bad Fishermen, afolk punk band playing everything from traditional Irish/English folk tunes to The Clash, The Pogues and a handful of originals.

On Sunday’s main stage, you can enjoy performances by Sue McFarlane, The Prognoscenti, Robyn Johnson, one of the biggest talented to emerge on the recent Derbyshire scene, plus Karl and the Marx Brothers, Pete Castle, and Danni And the Cassettes.
