He said: “We have taken the tale back to its origins in Persia allowing a lot of flexibility in designing the ideal look for Aladdin. I have drawn upon inspiration from Middle East cultivating in an amalgamation of colours and textures which truly embodies the exotic identity of our production.

“My favourite costumes are the Cave of Wonders, in which dancers portray rare stones and metals such as rubies, emeralds and amethysts. My wardrobe team and I have dedicated hours to deck the costumes in crystals and jewels to create the effect of unbelievable treasures.

“However, the opening market scene is bustling with full and lively colours, vibrant full circle skirts with beaded and bejewelled belly tops that mesh together and encapsulates the steamy heat a Moroccan market would have.”

Such precious costumes are well looked after when the company is on tour. Daniel said: “We have a member of staff that tours with the company to maintain every costume and prevent serious damage. Each costume has been embellished with over one hundred crystals and jewels and takes a lot of care to keep in perfect condition.”
