World’s biggest tribute festival stages launch party

The final countdown to the world’s biggest tribute festival, Glastonbudget has begun, and there was no better way to celebrate this with the official launch night at Leicester, Barley Mow pub. The night took place on Friday 20th March and showcased a sneak peek of performances before the big event in May.

Highlights of the launch included performances from three unique bands, such as the one of a kind covers band, The Fu Fu Sailors. The local tribute band have been travelling the UK circuit for 10 years, providing fans with a range of genres in performances that specialise in cover songs. The five piece band treated the crowd to their own version of hit songs including ‘Get Lucky’ and ‘No Diggity’.

The group have been confirmed to return to Glastonbudget for their third year and fans at the launch party could not contain their excitement.

Further home-grown talent were also at the launch night, with the infamous Skam# showcasing their musical talent with a classic rock set. The fun night finished off with music from Leicester’s Egg Ladies, the two piece acoustic act had the crowd on their feet with their feel good music and upbeat singalong vibes.

The evening did not stop there, with festival attendees being treated to a musical themed buffet with guitar shaped sandwiches and tasty musical note cupcakes. The theme added to the eagerly anticipated festival.

Glastonbudget will take place from 22nd to 24th May in Wymeswold, Leicestershire. Along with local midlands talent, festival goers will have the chance to experience the performances of major tribute acts from across the UK, such as Kazabian, Four Fighters, Abba Revival, Oasish, The Darkside of Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Bac.

Tickets for the weekend start at - £76.00, this includes free parking and camping!
