Mirth-maker Gary Delaney is jester witty wordsmith with razor-sharp one-liners and cutting comedy as his weapons of choice.

He’s written scripts for the Perrier award-nominated Ivan Brackenbury’s Hospital Roadshow, which is the alter ego of north Derbyshire comedian Tom Binns, as well as Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks and Russell Howard’s Good News.

Gary has also received two Sony Awards for his work for Kerrang! Radio.

Stand-up comedy is also his forte which is why he’s headlining a show at the Winding Wheel, Chesterfield, on May 26.

He will be supported by Rudge, whose bizarre feats of glass-eating, human block head, straitjacket escape and glass-jumping are a must-see act, and the master of dark anecdotes, Simon Gunnell.

The show, run by Spotlight Comedy Club, starts at 8pm. Tickets cost £8 in advance, £10 on the door and £5 for students. To book, call (01245) 345222 or www.chesterfieldvenues.co.uk.
