Ripley and Alfreton Musical Theatre Company’s latest production is an East Midlands premiere of the baseball themed musical Damn Yankees.

The home run musical with a seductive twist, it’s the story of a man who risked the love of his life for the love of the game. An American masterpiece of musical theatre and a devilishly good time!

As middle-aged baseball fan Joe Boyd trades his soul to the Devil in order to help his favourite baseball team beat the New York Yankees, hell literally breaks loose. Transformed into baseball sensation Joe Hardy, he takes the Washington Senators to new heights whilst discovering the true worth of the life he was so quick to leave behind.

Featuring a memorable score of Adler and Ross hits such as “Whatever Lola Wants”,(the latest Magnum advert features this song!), “Shoeless Joe”, “Who’s Got The Pain?” and “Heart”, this Tony award-winning musical is also the first show that director and choreographer Chris Parkes will have produced for RAMTC.

The show runs at Alfreton Grange Arts College from Monday, April 14, to Saturday, April 19, at 7.15pm with a Saturday matinee performance at 2.30pm.

Tickets are available from the Box Office 01773745082, online at ramtc.org or England Barker Jewellers, Grosvenor Road, Ripley. Concessions are available on Monday night and Saturday matinee and there is a free Easter egg for any children in the audience on Friday night. Party booking concessions are also available.
