Review: Ghostly spoof is a trusty rib tickler

Same setting, same costumes – it could be The Ghost Train all over again. Instead it turns into the kind of production directors have nightmares about.

The second play in Nottingham Theatre Royal’s Classic Thriller Season is a glorious spoof of the murder mystery genre, set during the dress rehearsal of – yes, you guessed, The Ghost Train.

The Shadow of the Ghost comes complete with gun, noose, weights tumbling from on high, even the odd dead body, and plenty of laughs.

Then the villain arrives, and the mayhem really starts.

Tabs Productions have a lot of fun with it, and so did the first night audience.

The Shadow of the Ghost runs till Saturday and will guarantee a good laugh.
