An Alfreton amateur drama group is looking for an actor to take part in a new comedy next month.
The appeal has been made by Alfreton Wesley Drama Group, which is presenting the play “Hero” on Thursday and Friday July 24 and 25 at 7pm.
Producer David Hopkinson said: “We are looking for a man, aged between 20 and 40. The actor who was to have taken the part has had to drop out because of work commitments, and so far we have been unable to find a replacement.
“Applicants don’t need to have had any previous acting experience – but they do need to be able to learn lines!”
The group, which meets at the Wesley Methodist Church in Ellesmere Avenue, Alfreton, has been presenting plays for about 25 years, and now stages three productions a year.
“Hero” is set in the 1960s, as a family’s plans to honour a First World War veteran’s bravery come unstuck.
Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings. Anyone interested should contact David on 01773 833627 as soon as possible.
