Markeaton Park in Derby will be the setting as Derbyshire theatre company Oddsocks bring their latest UK tour back to the area.
Oddsocks Productions was set up 26 years ago by Andy Barrow and Elli Mackenzie and is a Derby-based, critically acclaimed nationally touring theatre company who take classic texts and create bold, challenging,
innovative and interactive theatre to be enjoyed by all.
Oddsocks’ performance style is for a totally modern audience says Elli Mackenzie: “This is Shakespeare for 2015! There’s no expectations of our audience, no prior knowledge, just the knowledge they’re in for a good night out filled with live music and laughs!”
Oddsocks return this summer with copious amounts of their inimitable classic style of comedy: Oddsocks’ Twelfth Night is back by popular demand, a madcap musical treat with Shakespeare’s famous love story intertwined with live performances of well-known British chart hits.
Andy Barrow, Oddsocks co-founder, director and actor describes what an audience can expect from the shows: “There will be lively characters, live music and thoughtful performances. Expect to be uplifted and moved! Come along to crazy summer nights sharing an energised Shakespeare comedy with hundreds of people!”
Oddsocks takes their work out to diverse communities across the UK. The company’s summer season celebrates the work of Shakespeare, in family friendly environments and spaces and during its winter season it tours traditional family productions.
