It’s full steam ahead for this weekend’s exhibition of steam and diesel locomotives, including the world-famous Mallard, at Barrow Hill Roundhouse.

Barrow Hill LIve! is running on Saturday and Sunday, September 28 and 29, from 10am to 5pm.

The exhibition, which features full size steam and diesel locomotives and their model counterparts, will celebrate the 75th anniversary of Mallard setting the world steam record of 126mph.

Mervyn Allcock, general manager of Barrow Hill Roundhouse, said: “This is an incredible opportunity for the people of Derbyshire to get up close to this famous locomotive in the unique and totally appropriate setting of Britain’s only surviving operational Roundhouse.”
