A new season of satellite broadcasts will screen stage performances by the country’s leading companies.

The 2016 programme at Chesterfield’s Pomegranate Theatre opens with Kenneth Branagh Company’s production of a Shakespeare classic.

Judi Dench and Kenneth Branagh star in a stage production of The Winter’s Tale to be screened as the season’s opener on January 4 at 2pm.

On the same day, at 7pm, there will be a screening of NT Live: Jane Eyre at 2pm.

Highlights for the remainder of the month include screenings of ENO: The Mikado on January 10 at 3pm, EOS: Goya on January 17 at 2.30pm and Royal Ballet: Rhapsody/The Two Pigeons on January 31 at 2pm.

Highlights for the following month include NT Live: Liaisons Dangereuses on February 11 at 7pm and NT Live: As You like It on February 25 at 7pm.
