MASTER of verse Andrew Motion, who was Poet Laureate for ten years, will be introducing his eagerly awaited sequel to Treasure Island at a night of readings.

His new work, Silver features a cast of noble seaman, murderous pirates and tales of love, valour and terrible cruelty.

Andrew will read excerpts from the book at Nottingham Playhouse on Thursday, June 7 at 8pm.

He will also share selections from his latest book of poems, The Cinder Path (Faber) shortlisted for the Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry, Laurels and Donkeys on conflicts from 1914 to the war in Afghanistan and his acclaimed autobiography In The Blood – A Memoir of My Childhood.

There will be an opportunity for questions about his writing and role of Poet Laureate, followed by book signing.
