ORGANISERS of a new community arts festival are aiming to fill the whole of Chesterfield with art, music, drama, dance, singing, performance and crafts.
The festival will run from May 3-6 next year and will be open to artists and community groups to showcase or exhibit their work.
Live music and performance venues will include the Pomegranate Theatre and Winding Wheel, which will be at the centre of the action, with halls, open spaces, cafes and pubs across town also hosting shows.
In the months leading up to the festival artists will work with community groups to involve local people in exciting and creative ways of making and performance for the festival.
Young people, especially, will be encouraged and supported, gaining confidence, learning new skills and having fun.
Organisers are now looking for performers, artists and community groups who would like to be involved.
They are also appealing for businesses in town, such as shops, cafes and pubs, which would like to host a creative activity. It could be giving over wall space to display art, holding a workshop or hosting a performance.
If you want to join in, you must register an expression of interest by November 9 by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
