A TALENTED north Derbyshire band is taking to the stage to win a top national title with a recording deal and tour.

Blind Obedience, including youngsters Sarah Simmons, Billy Callingswood, Ed Morley and Jordan Crich, successfully auditioned at the NEC in Birmingham to reach the regional finals of the UK’s Live & Unsigned 2011 competition.

Band manager David Beadle, of Staveley, said: “They’ve all worked hard and sacrificed a lot to get this far and if they keep doing very well in this competition this could be a life changing experience.”

The band, which includes new drummer Connor Beresford after Patrick Morten became too busy to continue, is due to perform at the regional finals at Sheffield City Hall, on April 3, and if they’re successful they will appear at the national final in London.
