The visit sees them popping up in schools, with choirs and in pubs in an effort to bring their music to as many different people as possible.

On Friday, April 17, the orchestra will be running a pub crawl down the Brampton Mile, playing in three hostelries. The event is free – members of the public are encouraged to join the musicians as they process from pub to pub.

The following day sees a concert for tots, from 2 to 5 years, at the Winding Wheel, where the programme will include singalongs for all the family.

On Saturday evening the orchestra will perform an all- ages concert with The Rose Choir and Chesterfield Co-Operative Choral Society. In this concert sea shanties sit alongside classics like Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Handel’s Water Music.

Workshops led by musicians from the orchestra will be held in local schools.
