They may have a name steeped in musical amnesia, but Jukebox Memory Loss are a bunch well worth remembering.

The Chesterfield/Sheffield quintet are in the midst of a UK tour that is taking in Leeds, Manchester and London, with the lads hitting Sheffield’s Frog and Parrot on Friday.

Listening to their Live at West Street CD, it’s clear why their impressive sound is taking them the length and breadth of the country.

Good Morning George swaggers to a funked-up Stone Roses riff, while Scooby Doo and the Background Frame offers the laid-back beat of the Charlatans in a mellow moment.

But it’s the starting vocals of singer Ramsay that grab the attention - a rich baritone on steroids.

Powerful and passionate they help lift JML’s music into a whole different sphere.
