Nottingham Symphony Orchestra’s first performance of 2016 will be the latest in its series of Classical Bites Concerts, on Friday, January 22, from 6.30pm.
Lasting no more than an hour, the themed concerts also offer the chance to enjoy a meal at the end.
Conducted by Derek Williams, the concert at Nottingham’s Albert Hall features BBC Young Musician Of The Year winner Laura Van Der Heijden as the soloist in Saint-Saens’s Cello Concerto No 1.
Other French-themed works are Offenbach’s Orpheus In The Underworld Overture and Gaite Parisienne, plus extracts from Delibes’s ballet Coppelia.
