EastEnders actor John Partridge teams up with Three Degrees singer Sheila Ferguson to launch the pantomime Cinderella.

John, who plays Christian Clarke in the BBC soap and was a judge on the hit telly series Over The Rainbow, will be playing Prince Charming in the Nottingham spectacle.

Sheila, whose musical credits include Fame, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Oh What A Night!, plays Fairy Godmother in the show, which runs from December 8 to January 13.

Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment’s pantomime division and executive producer of Cinderella, said: “We are delighted that John and Sheila, two pre-eminent figures in the world of entertainment, will lead the cast of Cinderella.

“Guaranteed to be another action-packed and must-see Theatre Royal Nottingham pantomime, the show will feature an abundance of comedy, fabulous sets, and outrageous costumes and, as Theatre Royal Nottingham audiences have come to expect, surprises galore along the way!”

Robert Sanderson, managing director of the Theatre Royal Nottingham, said: “Cinderella is without doubt the most magical of pantomimes and, with such a talented cast, I’m sure this production will be simply breathtaking. We, at the Theatre Royal, so much look forward to the pantomime season each year. It’s truly heartening to see families coming together for a terrific family outing, from great-grandparents to little ones. A visit to the pantomime is an absolute must for fun during the festive season’s celebrations ... roll on, December!”

Other cast already announced for the Theatre Royal’s pantomime include comedy double-act The Grumbleweeds. Graham Walker and Robin Colvill were part of the original The Grumbleweeds Radio Show which ran for 15 series on BBC Radio 2 and won the Best Radio Show from The Television and Radio Industries Awards. The double-act, who play the role of The Brokers Men in Cinderella, are popular faces on the comedy circuit.
