There’s no business like showbusiness, and there’s certainly no show quite like Irving Berlin’s immortal Annie Get Your Gun. Shooting birds off hats and eggs off heads; Indian ceremonial dances; even a bit of on-off-on-again romance: it’s a musical that has it all.
It’s not often seen these days, but it’s popular with audiences. It was Peak Performance’s lively, colourful spring production at the Pomegranate last week, and Ashgate Hospice, the company’s chosen charity for this year, will do well from it.
