Visit Cromford Mills and step back in time at its Georgian weekend event with lots to see and do for all the family.

Pony and trap rides and 18th century mill workers will be among the attractions on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29.

Follow the Georgian Invention Trail to win a prize or join in with games including skittles, quoits and chess.

There will be an opportunity to decorate a pot before sowing a cotton seed to take home and watch grow!

Discover more through guided tours including a tour of the mill and village led by William Clack, Richard Arkwright’s mill manager. Learn about what happened if you broke the law and just how strict working in the mills was. Then meet Richard Arkwright himself in the Arkwright Experience in the new Gateway at Cromford Mills.

Meet Barratt and Esmerelda the barn owls, Bilbo the white faced scops owl, Gandalf the great grey owl, and all their fluffy friends. Find out about these fascinating owls and their roles in history with talks during the day.

For those seeking adventure, have a go ascending the climbing wall.

Browse the craft market selling a variety of handmade gifts, enjoy viewing a flotilla of model boats on the canal, have your face painted or enjoy storytelling sessions throughout the afternoon.
