If February fills you with fear, thinking of the dark nights and post-Christmas blues, then fear not as Buxton Opera House and the Pavilion Arts Centre has the perfect feel-good antidote.

The annual Four Four Time Festival of Live Music will be held from Saturday February 16, 2013, to Sunday February 24, 2013, and it once again offers a fun and eclectic mix, kicking off with Britpop stalwarts Cast on Saturday February 16.

The acclaimed ‘Elvis of the North’ Richard Hawley will be welcomed back to perform his swooning 50s-style songs in the Opera House on Sunday February 17, while the following evening will see rocker Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel perform the classics Judy Teen, Mr Soft, Here Comes The Sun and Make Me Smile.

Brand-new to the Opera House, The Zappatistas will bring to life the greatest music of Frank Zappa on Tuesday February 19, with an energizing injection of jazz rock.

One of the most successful respected and flamboyant drummers of his generation, Ginger Baker, will be at the Opera House with his funk and jazz quartet Jazz Confusion on Wednesday February 20, and be prepared to return to the 80s for a night of slick synths, soaring vocals and art-school electronics from the spectacular Heaven 17 on Thursday February 21.

June Tabor & Oysterband (Friday February 22) bring together the immense, individual talent of English folk singer June Tabor with the raucous roots rebels Oysterband, and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers on Saturday February 23 will fill the Opera House with the sounds of blistering rock bagpipes covering everything from Amazing Grace to Smoke on the Water and Chasing Cars.

And to close the festival on Sunday February 24, catch Cannon, Campbell, Watchhorn & O’Connor of The Dubliners for some of their legendary folk music, playing hits known world over: Whiskey in The Jar, Dirty Old Town, The Irish Rover and many more.

Also during Four Four Time 2013, the Pavilion Arts Centre will play host to another seven diverse acts: Heidi Talbot (Sunday February 17), Michael Chapman (Monday February 18), The Juan Martin Ensemble (Tuesday February 19), The Men They Couldn’t Hang (Wednesday February 20), King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys (Thursday February 21), Dick Gaughan (Friday February 22) and Ruby Turner (Saturday February 23).
