Eckington’s City Players launch their latest production next week.

The company will be presenting Web of Murder by Jonathan Troy at the Corner Playhouse, Eckington, from Monday, October 20, to Saturday, November 1, at 7.30pm nightly.

Set in a brooding, isolated mansion, the play produced by PhilipMantle, tells the story of Minerva Osterman who has been confined to a wheelchair for many years. Fearing that her death may be imminent, she gathers her family and carers to a reading of her will, enabling her to watch their reactions to it.

However, before the reading, she asks the mysterious Dr Adler to put her into a hypnotic trance, during which she predicts that someone in the room will die before the weekend is over.

Tickets at £10 are available from 01246 430507, or online from www.cityplayers.co.uk or any member of the society.
