The 50th anniversary of the Pennine Way will be marked in a television documentary.

BBC Yorkshire is joining forces with BBC Two to produce a three-part documentary series which is due to be aired next year.

Polar explorer and ocean diver Paul Rose will take on the challenge of walking the 268-mile Pennine Way which stretches from Edale in the Peak District to Kirk Yetholm on the Scottish border.

Executive producer Nicola Addyman said: “We’re delighted that Paul Rose is going to focus his incredibly well-travelled gaze on such a treasured national trail.”
