Prolific singer-songwriter Damon Downs is looking forward to sharing choice cuts from his latest album when he plays a hometown gig.

His fourth studio album is entitled Colours and will form the basis of his performance at The Market pub in Chesterfield this Sunday, November 10.

In a tweet on his website, Damon said: “Always look forwards to playing the Market. Chilled, acoustic and always a lovely feeling.”

He describes the album as melancholic pop/folk with elegant melodies and subtly applied harmonies. Every element is designed to complement the beauty of the songs.

Released last month, Colours came out on CD and was then digitally distributed through iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and CDBaby.

Chesterfield-based Damon has around 20 years of experience in both session work and songwriting, having worked with notable songwriters and performers.

His own music has a signature sound of down-to-earth, easy-on-the-ear music which appeals to a broad market, attracting audiences of all ages and musical tastes.

Damon’s vision of writing is now accompanied by musicians James Utting and James Singleton which aid the pop/indie, folk crossovers.
