A mid Derbyshire based theatre company will be contributing to Chesterfield’s Pomegranate Theatre spring play season.
Rumpus will present The Comedy of Terrors! from the pen of the company’s founder John Goodrum, who lives in South Wingfield.
The Comedy of Terrors! was first aired on a national tour ten years ago.
The play follows the fortunes of an actress who arrives at a theatre for an audition with the director. It turns out she’s actually been invited to the theatre by the director’s identical twin who wants her to impersonate her own twin sister.
Susan Earnshaw and John Goodrum reprise the roles they played a decade ago in this fast-moving madcap comedy of multiple mistaken identity.
The Comedy of Terrors! runs from February 12-16 and is presented in association with Tabs Productions, Talking Scarlet and the Pomegranate Theatre.
The Pomegranate’s spring play season launches on Tuesday, January 29 with a thriller entitled Shock! penned by Brian Clemens. Staged by Tabs Productions, the show runs until February 2.
The season closes with the poignant Irish comedy Stones in his Pocket, by Marie Jones, which will be staged by Talking Scarlet from February 20 to March 2.
The Pomegranate is offering a season saver enabling theatregoers the opportunity to see all three plays for the price of two and save up to £16 on individual ticket prices.
