A new theatre is opening its doors to the public.

A new theatre is opening its doors to the public.

Rose Theatre, on Rose Hill, Chesterfield, will host its debut production on Saturday, December 7.

The theatre is part of the Eastwood building of Rose Hill United Reformed Church and reinvigorating the building is a long-term work in progress.

However, the theatre is ready to invite audiences for an evening of entertainment.

Chesterfield Studios is opening its Rose Theatre for a production of The Tell Tale Heart by Little Earthquake Theatre Company.

Presented as part of the Live and Local series, which takes theatre arts to community venues across the county, the play is based on Edgar Allan Poe’s gripping story about a murder that bites back.

The play seesaws between funny and scary and will be performed by one actor and a sound artist, creating live sound effects and music using everyday objects and electronic equipment.

This show will please anyone who likes an old-fashioned horror movie, crime novel or detective drama. It plays on the power of suggestion, without spilling blood.
