TELLY stars have switched to the stage to star in the most successful play ever to tour the United Kingdom.
Lesley Joseph (Dorien in Birds of a Feather), Kacey Ainsworth (Little Mo in EastEnders) and Sue Holderness (Marlene in Only Fools and Horses) are appearing in the final tour of Calendar Girls.
The production has taken more at the box office than the original film, with ticket sales in excess of £21m.
The show – which comes to Nottingham Theatre Royal next week and to Sheffield Lyceum the following week – also features Deena Payne (Viv Hope in Emmerdale), Ruth Madoc (Gladys Pugh in Hi de Hi), Helen Fraser (Bodybag in Bad Girls) and Camilla Dallerup (Strictly Come Dancing professional).
Based on a true story, the production focuses on members of a WI who persuade one another to pose for a charity calendar with a difference.
Calendar Girls runs at the Theatre Royal from July 4-9 and at Sheffield Lyceum from July 11-23. To book for Nottingham, contact (0115) 989 5555 or www.trch.co.uk, for Sheffield, contact (0114) 249 6000 or www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk
