West End leading lady Maria Friedman brings her award-winning concert to Buxton Opera House.
Maria created and performed leading parts in the musicals Passion, The Woman in White (both West End & Broadway), Chicago, Ragtime, The Witches of Eastwick and Sunday in the Park with George, among many others.
She has been awarded three Laurence Olivier Awards and received an amazing seven nominations! She can be heard on various original cast albums, and has recorded seven solo CDs (including her latest, The Great British Songbook).
Theatre concerts include a sold-out series of Re-arranged in London (performing the repertoire of Sondheim, Brel and Bacharach), three seasons at the Café Carlyle, New York, and concerts at the Barbican, Royal Albert Hall and the Cadogan Hall.
Now this true giant of British musical theatre comes to the Opera House, with a show which will include songs from her Great British Songbook album, plus a splash of Sondheim.
