Musical spectacle with the Military Wives

THE MILITARY Wives Choir are to reunite with Derbyshire’s critically-acclaimed Tideswell Male Voice Choir for a second live musical spectacle at Buxton Opera House.

Following their hugely-successful, sell-out collaboration earlier this year, the choirs will present a new and exciting musical programme at the Water Street venue on Sunday October 6, 2013.

And tickets for this eagerly-awaited performance have already gone on sale.

Having achieved the coveted Christmas No 1 spot in 2011 with ‘Wherever You Are’, the Devon-based Military Wives went on to claim double chart success as both the album, In My Dreams and the single Sing, the Jubilee anthem, simultaneously reached the top spot.

Last month, their new album, Stronger Together, was launched bringing new meaning and poignancy to renditions of some classics along with specially-recorded new tracks.

Principal Conductor and Director of Music with Tideswell Male Voice Choir, Dennis Kay, said: “Following the formation of the first Military Wives Choir many others have since been formed, which is fantastic, but I am delighted that we will be sharing the stage in Buxton again with the original choir from Chivenor.

“The unique and special choral sound of the ‘Chivenor Wives’ is not to be missed.

“This year was truly wonderful but we aim to make next year even more spectacular.”

Tickets, priced £26, are available by calling the ticket hotline on 01298 77947 or Buxton Opera House Box Office on 0845 127 2190.
