Lest we forget...

A timely tribute to those who lost their lives in wartime is to be staged in Chesterfield.

Standing in Line, featuring songs, readings and images focusing on the Great War, will be performed by internationally-acclaimed singer-songwriter Lester Simpson in conjunction with Mike Bettison and locally based Nigel Corbett.

The concert, at St Thomas Centre, Brampton, on Saturday, November 3, will give spectators a chance to hear about Albert Scrimshaw who was killed 95 years ago in the battle of Ypres and many other captivating stories.

Providing an ideal background to Remembrance Sunday just over a week later, Standing In Line was first commissioned by Peace Concerts Passendale and first performed at Passendale and since throughout Belgium and the UK

Tickets are available from Shirley Niblock, tel. 207080, Howard Borrell, tel. 221400 or Created Gallery, tel. 232205.
