WRITER and performer Ginny Davis is bringing her award-winning hit show to north Derbyshire.

Her one-woman show Double Booked comes to the Hollingwood Hub, the home of Chesterfield Canal Trust, on Wednesday, February 20.

The show was a sell-out at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2010 and at the Buxton Festival Fringe 2011, being nominated for best theatre production at the latter.

Ginny specialises in comedic, one-woman monologues on the subject of family life. Her character, Ruth Rich, is a stay at home mumof three.

You’d think Ruth would settle down and join a book club now that the kids are beginning to fly the nest but, oh, how wrong you’d be! As Ruth enters the ‘sandwich’ years and worries over her mildly demented mother, her son Freddie’s detention and daughter Ellie’s driving and drinking, she discovers it’s not easy to please everyone.

The performance of Double Booked starts at 7.30pm at Hollingwood Hub. Tickets £8; contact (01246) 477569.
