Chesterfield teen rockers The Fuse narrowly missed out on claiming the crown in a national battle of the bands competition.
The Chesterfield quintet fought off 10,000 acts to land a spot in final of the UK's Live and Unsigned grand final at London's Fairfield Halls on Saturday, June 28.

That battle included clinching the title of top young act in the region, taking on 13 acts at Sheffield's Montgomery Theatre earlier in the year and emerging victorious.

The Fuse's Freddie Bingham said: "To get to this stage of the competition was amazing!

"We didn't win, a band called Luxon Bute did, but we put our hearts into it and it was probably the best we ever played!

"The stage and lighting was awesome, although the sound quality in the sound check wasn't very good, but it was great sound when we actually performed!"

As well as the great experience of competing on a national stage, the lads also took great pride in the fact they were the youngest band to reach the final stage of the event.

Freddie added: "Thanks to all our fans who have supported us throughout Live and Unsigned".
