A Chesterfield bar is being relaunched as a new home for north Derbyshire's musicians.
Boasting a new stage, in-house PA and sound booth, Joplins aims to put music on every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night — according to promoter Rich Alsop.

"It's a dedicated live music venue, the first of its kind in Chesterfield - which means that bands, as well as music lovers, will have a home," he said.

"I am well happy to be a part of this and so should other unsigned music supporters by coming down and supporting the movement which is finally starting to make people pay attention - it's a great time for music lovers of Chesterfield."

But Rich added that gig-goers and music-lovers need to show their support for the local scene if they wanted it to be a big success.

"Music lovers really need to get behind this venue, without the supporters it will fail and all the hard work will be for nothing - people of Chesterfield support your local music scene - it needs you!"

  • Joplins will also be running two practice rooms at the venue.

  • Any bands interested in hiring them out can contact Rich on 0778 988 3504.
