A band will do anything for a good cause, and Chesterfield's finest turned out to lend their support to a fundraiser for the British Union Against Vivsection.
Put on at Springwell Community School by Danielle Taylor, Charlotte Smith and Holly Stancill , with help from Jake Beresford, the successful showcase event was the first of many planned for the Staveley school.

And with it being a start to something new, it was the perfect place for opening first artists, Randomly Distracted, to show off their style. Not your average band, the duo made an impact with twists of melodic vocals and backing tracks.

Stratingwith a new tune, Do It Outside kept to their regular standards, even with a slight band reshuffle. With the new song proving an ideal accompaniment to the handful of originals they have already compiled, they completed their set with more of their own numbers and finishing with a Foo Fighters cover.

When illness forced one of the bands to pull out of the event, school band The Foo's threw themselves into the breach. Performing a handful of covers, The Foo's showed off their talents with female vocals, drummers playing keyboards and neat guitar and bass work on tracks by Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bob Dylan.

Derbyshire favourite fun-loving pop-synth boys All At Stake finished the night off with their usual catchy choruses, including The Wandering Part II, the ever-popular cover of Sean Kingston's Beautiful Girls

A worthy cause, a packed out room and an evening of music varying from covers to chart-worthy original tracks, it makes you proud to see what lengths people will go to just to make a change.
