Beer, bands and an army of revellers have taken on Donington Park and transformed it into Download 2007.
Kicking of the fun on Friday, Enter Shikari put a new stance on the weekend by mixing rave with screams and guitars – packing out the Dimebag Darrell tent and leaving people hanging from the poles to see inside.
Korn make their return, but instead
of hitting the main stage, they attract crowds to the Dimebag Darrell stage, hungry to see the set they all missed out on last year.
Circle pits
My Chemical Romance isn't fully welcomed to Download party, with taunts at any mention of the name.
It comes as no surprise that bottles rain down on the stage as they come on, but Gerard Way and his band welcome the bottles with open arms and use the volley to feed their fire as they play through a mixed set to close the first night of Download.
Saturday sees Aiden take to the main stage to offend staff and start as many circle pits as possible. A solid performance in front of a large crowd is impressive for a midday slot.
Pop-punk food-junkies Bowling for Soup attract the majority of the festival to the main stage with inflatable sheep and unforgettable tunes such as Girl All The Bad Guys Want.
Down at the Dimebag, looking for a good fight, the Gallows take the stage and make it their own.
Frontman Frank Carter spends more time in the crowd than he does in front of them, and if he is on stage, he's breaking his way through mics and stands.
Through the spitting, insulting and even a phone call to Frank's mum, The Gallows prove it's here they belong.
Marilyn Manson adds an eerie set to the agenda. With songs from his new album and a handful of old classics, there's no pause for interaction during each song.
Fitted with his mic-machette, Manson leaves swiftly at the end of Beautiful People through exploding pyrotechnics.
Linkin Park, opening with One Step Closer, end Saturday with a solid crowd-pleasing set that fills the field despite playing adjacent to Motley Crue.
Even though it's the last day, the metal fiends all seem to be out to play on Sunday.
With the main stage playing host to such bands as Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage, Napalm Death and Dimmu Borgir claim a congregation down at the Dimebag Stage.
Evanescence amuses a slight proportion of the crowd with the highest pitch of the weekend.
Iron Maiden pull the curtain down for the masses at the main stage, but the party just seems to be getting started over at the Tuborg stage with Reel Big Fish.
Trumpets, skatty riffs and a rendition of Metallica's Enter Sandman is everything that all these ska lovers need to end the perfect weekend.
Amidst the bottle fights and the passing-out casualties, Download 2007 has proved itself to be a great year. Bring on Download 2008..!
