Tim Morris has won the Bill Pitts Trophy at Matlock Golf Club.
The event is for men aged over 50 and he overcame difficult condition to lift the trophy by three strokes.
Tim’s score was 84 (21) 63 while in second Andrew Turk 81 (15) 66 and third was Mick Peet 84 (17) 67.
In the Men’s Spondon Plate, Matlock A won at home to Denton 6.5 to 0.5.
In the first round of the Ladies Spondon Trophy Matlock lost to Rufford away.
The Matlock Ladies team lost to Hallamshire in the Daily Mail foursomes, and also to Horsley Lodge in the third round of the Mail on Sunday.
The Ladies Silver Trophy team lost away to Breadsall, but the Bronze Team halved their match at Chesterfield and won at home to Shirland.
Meanwhile, Chesterfield’s Ladies Bronze team played their second match of the season against Stanedge at Stanedge, and won 3-2.
In the season’s first qualifying medal at Chesterfield, the winners were first, Mrs J Willams gross 109 nett 74, second, Mrs S Trueman, gross 100 nett 74, third, Mrs A Lomas, gross 98 nett 79.
